Before you welcome a new dog into your heart (and your home), the chances are high that you’ll have spent a great deal of time with other people’s dogs. Perhaps your family had a pet dog while you were growing up, or maybe many of your friends have some canine companions.
Spending time with other people’s dogs and owning one yourself are two completely different concepts. In a sense, it is like having a child dependent on you for their every need.
